Sao Paulo is the third largest major metropolitan area on the planet with a population of 20 million inhabitants.The city grew because of the coffee plantation in the middle of the XIX Century.

Millions of immigrants coming from ITALY, JAPAN, SPAIN and GERMANY came to work on the coffee farms. Sao Paulo is a modern and cosmopolitan city, offering restaurants with food from 52 different countries. Because it is such a huge city, it offers attractions like museums, parks, an aquarium, a zoo, restaurants and art galleries. The public transport service is modern and efficient.

City tour in São Paulo

The city tour in Sao Paulo offers the opportunity of enjoying a rich city with history, gastronomy, culture and leisure.

The tour takes from 3-10 hours and during the city tour we stop in some of the tourist points for photos and lunch.

PACAEMBU STADIUM

This is the oldest stadium in Sao Paulo, inaugurated in the 1940's.It has a German architecture and capacity for 40,000 people.

Paulista avenue

It is a symbol of the city.It was the first financial centre of LATIN AMERICA with commercial buildings, banks, museums and shopping centres.

Ibirapuera park

It was inspired by CENTRAL PARK in NEW YORK. It covers an area of 1,5 square kilometres and was projected by the great architect Oscar Niemeyer and the landscaper Burle Marx. In the park there are 5 museums, in which the INDIGENOUS MUSEUM called OCA and the MUSEUM OF MODERN ART stand out.

Vila Madalena

Enjoy this Bohemian district with its dancing bars, restaurants, art galleries and artistic graffitis.

HISTORIC CENTRE

In the historic centre we can explore the main Cathedral of Sao Paulo named CATEDRAL DA SE, inaugurated in 1954.

Sao Paulo was founded in 1554 by the Portuguese Jesuits.

The first construction was a College to evangelize the indigenous peoples called SAO PAULO  PIRATININGA COLLEGE.

Municipal market

This is the most visited tourist stop in Sao Paulo. One can taste exotic fruits from various countries and eat a mortadella sandwich of 300 grams. The architecture is magnificent in the art-deco style.

japanese district (lIBERTY)

The District of LIBERDADE was the first place of the Japanese immigrants in Sao Paulo, when they arrived in 1903. The decoration is typical and there are many restaurants and shops, where one can buy souvenirs and eat a traditional Japanese buffet.

ESTACAO DA LUZ

This is the oldest train station in Sao Paulo, with a British Victorian decoration.
